Hello all,
How many freestylers here like to wear "women's" skirts?
I'm one of those freestylers.
A big problem with these skirts is the fit at your waist. If the skirt is meant to sit on a woman's hips, you might be able to wear it at your waist with no problem, since most woman have "large" hips. But if a skirt is meant to sit higher at a woman's waist, then you'll have to get a larger size for the skirt to fit your waist. Unfortunately, larger sizes also mean larger hips. The larger size skirt might fit your waist, but excess material will drape unattractively at your hips.
You could bring the skirt to a tailor to remove the excess material around your hips (called "tapering," which is an expensive option), or you can buy "pull-on" style skirts. These skirts have elastic bands around the waists that will stretch to comfortably fit your waist. (Of course it will stretch only up to a maximum point) The advantage of "pull-on" skirts is you could get one to fit your hips and its elastic band will comfortably fit your waist and avoid the problem I presented above.
I'm happy to report that J. Jill, a company that sells woman's clothing, offers an attractive pull-on style mid-calf length "fit-and-flare sweater skirt" for US$69.99. You can see it here: http://www.jjill.com/jjillonline/produc ... D&h=M&sk=M. And while you're there, you can see other styles of "pull-on" skirts.
I hope I was helpful and happy shopping.
RYAN
